    • The Student Ambassador Program was launched in 2008 on two Wisconsin campuses and was a great success. Through the support of the WICPA Educational Foundation, Inc., an additional school will join the program this year.
    • The program is built around the concept of peer-to-peer networking. On each campus, a student who’s already an accounting major is awarded a scholarship and devotes 15 hours each month to helping dispel the negative stereotypes and misconceptions that exist about what CPAs do.
    • The student ambassadors create opportunities for themselves and CPAs to talk to students. They also leverage the power and influence of peer-to-peer interaction among students who are majoring in accounting and those who aren’t. This program is making strides in correcting misconceptions and is capturing the minds of students about what the future can hold if they major in accounting and become a CPA.
