Purpose of the Strategic Plan

The WICPA strategic plan provides direction to identify and implement activities that accomplish the mission of the organization as described below: The Wisconsin Institute of CPAs is a professional association which strives to serve its members, assure the public, and maintain the integrity of the accounting profession through the provision of continuing education, peer review, and community service opportunities; involvement in the legislative process; and communication with the public through the print and broadcast media. The WICPA mission is accomplished through activities and resources, and the strategic plan provides a framework for identifying the most appropriate activities and deployment of resources to accomplish the mission. | |

Past Strategic PlansThe first WICPA strategic plan was developed in 1994 by a group of WICPA leaders and management staff during a day and a half retreat that was facilitated by a professional consultant. The plan was updated in 2000 and 2004 during similar retreats that were facilitated by the same consultant. The prior three strategic plans identified similar general areas for the WICPA to apply resources in the fulfillment of its Mission. The 2004 strategic plan specifically identified the following activities for the WICPA:
