Get involved! Join a Conference Planning Task Force and you will:

  • Help decide what topics will be covered
  • Receive free conference registration ($300 - $500 value depending on conference)
  • Build your professional network with peers, speakers and vendors
  • Develop leadership skills
  • Recognition for your involvement

Conferences are a great way to get involved with the WICPA. As a vital part of organizing a successful conference, task force members meet (in-person or teleconference) approximately three months prior a conference date and use their experience, talents and expertise to determine what session topics will be covered and who the WICPA should have speak on those topics.

Conference attendance is required to serve on a Conference Planning Task Force, but as thanks for your involvement, you will receive complimentary registration. Task force members also help by either introducing a speaker, creating a set of on-demand questions for a recorded session, shadowing a student, or greeting attendees as they arrive.

Details for each conference and their approximate time frames are:

Name of Conference

Task Force Meeting

CPAs in Industry Spring October/November March
School District Audit November/December May (two locations)
Financial Institutions December/January May
Not-for-Profit & Health Care
March/April September
CPAs in Industry Fall March/April September
Tax April/May November
Accounting, Auditing & Financial Management Update May/June November

Being on a Conference Planning Task Force is a great way to put your experience in a specific area to work and can make a huge difference toward furthering the goals of the CPA profession. Plus, who doesn't like free registration?

We are always looking for new ideas and expanding our committees, so if you think you can help and are interested in joining a Conference Planning Task Force, please contact Tammy Hofstede.
