Renee Johnson, CPA receives WICPA Spirit Award

    Renee Johnson, CPA, Manager at Deloitte in Milwaukee, has been named recipient of the 2010-2011 WICPA Spirit Award for her active involvement with the Accounting Careers Committee.

    The Spirit Award recognizes total participation in committee, task force, and/or discussion group work. It reflects the recipient’s ability to initiate new ideas and/or motivate the membership. 

    Johnson is chair of the Accounting Careers Committee, 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 and is an avid speaker in the WICPA High School Speaking Program. She hosts high school students at her firm, so they can experience a day in the life of a CPA in an office setting. In addition, she is an Integral part of expanding the Accounting Careers Committee to include two high school teachers who provide valuable insight and direction to the committee.

    “By working with hopeful future accountants, the WICPA has given me opportunities to grow personally, professionally and most importantly, give back to a profession that I respect,” said Johnson. “It is very special to be recognized for something you have a great passion for and reminds all of us that you can have fun and be successful at the same time.”

    Johnson resides in Muskego.
