Brookfield resident named to WICPA Board of Directors Thomas J. Alberte, CPA, senior director with BDO Seidman, LLP in Milwaukee, has been named vice president to the 2010-2011 Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants (WICPA) Board of Directors. Alberte is a long standing member of the WICPA Public Policy Committee. His goals as vice president include encouraging members to get involved in the political process and to promote accounting as a career path to students. In addition, Alberte wants to encourage the continuing education of WICPA members in order to enhance their current skills to better serve their businesses and clients. Alberte resides in Brookfield.
The WICPA is the premier professional organization for Wisconsin CPAs, with more than 8,000 members working in public accounting, industry, government and education. Like other professionals, certified public accountants are required to obtain additional education, take a rigorous exam and become certified.
