Local student receives 2010 150-hour accounting scholarship

    David Schneekloth, a student at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a Seymour native. has received the 2010 LeRoy C. Schmidt 150-Hour Accounting Scholarship in the amount of $5,000 awarded by the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants (WICPA) Educational Foundation, Inc.

    The scholarship is offered to fund the 150-hour education requirement to sit for the CPA Exam. The 150-hour requirement calls for a fifth year of academic work leading towards a master’s degree in accounting.

    The scholarship is named after former WICPA Executive Director, LeRoy C. Schmidt, CPA

The WICPA is the premier professional organization for Wisconsin CPAs, with more than 8,000 members working in public accounting, industry, government and education. Like other professionals, certified public accountants are required to obtain additional education, take a rigorous exam and become certified.
