WICPA Membership FAQs

I’ve submitted my application for membership in the WICPA. Now what?
Applications for WICPA membership are usually processed within two to three business days after they are received. Within one week after submitting an application, new members will receive a welcome email. Within 20 days new members will receive a welcome packet in the mail. Fellow member certificates are mailed approximately one month after the date of instatement.

What is the annual dues cycle for membership?
WICPA membership dues are billed annually on May 1. For new members, dues are prorated.

How can I request my membership ID number?
You can request your WICPA membership ID number by contacting the WICPA at 262-785-0445 ext. 4502 or jessica@wicpa.org. Your membership number is also printed next to your name on WICPA mailings such as On Balance and The Bottom Line. Your WICPA membership ID number is generated by the WICPA member database and is not related to your CPA license number.

How do I notify the WICPA if my work status or contact information has changed?
Address and contact information changes can be made in the My Membership area of the Members Page. Work status changes such as retirement, working part-time and leave of absence can be made by contacting the WICPA at 262-785-0445 ext. 4502 or jessica@wicpa.org.

I’ve paid my annual WICPA membership dues but now I received a notice to renew my CPA license. Aren't these the same thing?
WICPA membership dues and the license renewal are two separate fees. The license renewal is a biannual fee charged by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services and is necessary to keep an active CPA license in Wisconsin. Contact the DSPS at 608-266-5511 or click here.

I would like to resign my WICPA membership. How do I go about this and does this affect my license status?
You can resign your WICPA membership by phone at 262-785-0445 ext. 4502; by email at jessica@wicpa.org or written notice at WICPA, W233N2080 Ridgeview Parkway, Suite 201, Waukesha, WI 53188. Membership in the organization does not affect licensing status. A resigned member may reinstate his or her membership at a later date, but if the reinstatement is made more than a year after the membership is terminated, a new membership application will need to be completed.
