Tales from the
field
Click here to read the full story of a fresh faced accounting
intern and his first accounting project that took him outside into
below zero temperatures and two feet of snow. This story proves that
accountants really don’t sit behind a desk all day.
Trends and Tudes
Read
Trends & Tudes, a newsletter to keep you connected to
today’s youth audience written by HarrisInteractive. This issue
answers the question, “What is life like for today’s college student?”
CPAs on YouTube
Do you want to tell your students what a CPA does? Use
today’s popular Web site, YouTube, and have them watch a video which
was created by the Maryland Association of CPAs, titled "Defining
America's CPAs: Maryland," the video is a compilation of 30
interviews conducted during the MACPA's "road show" in early December
2006. MACPA Executive Director Tom Hood, Editor Bill Sheridan and a
video team from the AICPA's MultiMedia Group spent four days traveling
throughout the state and interviewing members about their jobs and
their inspirations.
Supply and
demand: accountants are a hot commodity
Read an article from
AccountingWEB that talks about predictions
from the U.S. Labor Department about the number of accounting jobs
increasing by 18 percent to 26 percent from 2004 to 2014.
