Attend this session to understand the Private School Choice Programs (Choice Programs) and Special Needs Scholarship Program (Special Needs Program) requirements for the financial audit. This includes the new modified financial audit that is an option for certain schools beginning with the 2017–2018 financial audits. Common questions will also be identified in the prior-year report.
In addition, you will learn about the completion of the enrollment audit reports, and receive an explanation of their changes.
Learn about the Special Needs Scholarship Program, through which a student with a disability, who meets certain eligibility requirements, can receive a state-funded scholarship to attend a participating private school. This session will include a review of the initial student eligibility requirements and the requirements for schools participating in the program.
The legal landscape changes daily. Just when you think you have the laws and audit standards figured out, Congress, the State Legislature, or a court tells us what we are doing needs to be changed. This session is designed to give attendees the latest information on legal developments and how some accountants have been affected. Real cases involving conflicts of interest rules, due care and other ethical issues will be woven into the hot issues facing the profession.
Note: An electronic copy of course materials is included for all registrants and can be accessed via the
section 7 days prior to the course date.
