WICPA applauds lawmakers for moving forward PPP legislation

February 8, 2021

The Wisconsin Senate Committee on Financial Institutions and Revenue approved (3-2) an amendment to Senate Bill 2 (SB 2) on Thursday, Feb. 4, that will ensure businesses can deduct expenses paid for with revenue from the federal Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).

The WICPA and its members applaud the efforts of Sens. Dale Kooyenga, Howard Marklein, Roger Roth and Rob Stafsholt for moving forward this legislation to protect thousands of small businesses from unexpected taxes.

The WICPA continues to urge legislators and Gov. Tony Evers to support SB 2 to fulfill the promise that these funds would be available tax-free to all recipients.
