The IRS has issued all legally permitted first and second round of economic impact payments (EIPs), the agency announced Tuesday, Feb. 16.
In the first round of payments, the IRS issued more than 160 million EIPs to taxpayers across the country, totaling over $270 billion, in COVID-19 relief. In the second round, the IRS issued more than 147 EIPs, totaling over $142 billion.
With all EIPs issued, the IRS will now turn its full attention to the 2021 filing season, the agency said.
If eligible individuals did not receive a payment or the full payment amount, they may claim a recovery rebate credit.
