Senate passes PPP deadline extension

March 25, 2021

In a 92-7 vote Thursday, March 25, Senators passed a 2-month extension for the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA’s) Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).

The Senate passed the PPP Extension Act of 2021, which extends the program to May 31 instead of the current March 31 deadline and gives the SBA another 30 days to process loans.

President Joe Biden is expected to sign the bill into law after the White House indicated support for the program extension. Learn more.
