June 8, 2021

During this time of year, the Wisconsin Legislative Fiscal Bureau reviews tax collections to adjust earlier estimates. This year, the department says the increase in general fund tax collections is extraordinary.

Bob Lang, the director of the nonpartisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau, called the increase in general fund tax collections “unprecedented” in a memo published Tuesday, June 8.

Due to this, Wisconsin's projected revenue is also increasing: $4,427.4 billion by 2023, an 8.1% increase in funds.
