IRS highlights Charity Fraud Awareness Week

The IRS is joining international organizations and regulators in highlighting Charity Fraud Awareness Week.

The purpose of this awareness week is to emphasize the harmful impact of fraud and cybercrime on organizations and to create a safe space for charities to discuss best practices regarding these crimes.

Cybercrime is on the rise, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, including attacks on charities and their supporters. The Fraud Advisory Panel estimates the average charitable organization will lose 5% of its revenue to fraud each year. Learn more.
