DOR releases November 2021 tax bulletin, more publications

November 5, 2021

The Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR) recently published its tax bulletin for November 2021, which includes additional updates and reminders for tax practitioners.

Among the more notable changes in the bulletin is a new session ID function that allows an unregistered user to share their computer screen with one of the department’s customer service specialists. Practitioners and other third-party administrators will find a simplified process for accessing their client accounts.

The bulletin also announced a new Identity Protection PIN program, starting mid-November, to protect taxpayers’ identities. Taxpayers may request a PIN to file their 2021 individual income tax returns and homestead credit claims. See the November tax bulletin.

Additionally, the DOR released its 2021 Withholding Tax Update and Fact Sheet 2111, which pertains to sales and use tax exemption for fuel and electricity consumed in manufacturing.
