The IRS will allow taxpayers and their representatives to e-sign an array of forms and returns until Oct. 31, 2023, according to newly released memos.
Established during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the IRS urged taxpayers to e-file forms as a measure to prevent possible exposure. Those e-signature procedures were set to expire at the end of 2021.
The IRS will accept e-signatures for 42 forms or types of series of forms, according to one memo. See the list.
