Employees who contract COVID-19 may be eligible for protection under the American Disabilities Act, according to updated guidance from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
The guidance, issued Dec. 14, expands on previous announcements that employees with long-haul COVID-19 could qualify for disability resources.
Not all individuals who test positive will qualify, the EEOC said, placing the onus on employers to evaluate each employee to determine if they meet the requirements.
