The IRS is reminding teachers and other educators planning for 2022 that they can deduct up to $300 of out-of-pocket classroom expenses when filing their returns next year.

For educators filing their 2021 tax returns, the maximum deduction is $250. The limit will rise in $50 increments in future years based on inflation rates, the IRS said.
