Gov. Tony Evers proclaimed the month of April as Financial Literacy and Capability Month in Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Department of Revenue announced Friday, April 1.
The proclamation is part of a nationwide effort to raise awareness about the importance of financial literacy education and financial wellness.
The monthlong financial education campaign is a joint effort by Wisconsin’s financial institutions, insurance and finance industries, state and federal agencies, consumer groups and private sector organizations.
Throughout the month of April, a variety of financial literacy events and initiatives will aim to educate Wisconsin’s youth about financial stability and success.
The WICPA’s Reading Makes Cents program is a great way to get involved. The WICPA provides materials for members volunteering their time to read money-themed books to Wisconsin elementary school students.
