Lockdowns in China causing tech product delays

More than 30 Taiwan companies, many of them makers of electronics parts, said on Wednesday, April 13, that Chinese government COVID-19 control measures in eastern China had led them to suspend production until at least next week. 

Among the Taiwan firms notifying the stock exchange were Pegatron Corp., which produces Apple's iPhone 13, the iPhone SE series and other legacy models; and Quanta Computer Inc., which assembles Apple's MacBook laptop computers.

Analysts said that shipments of Dell and Lenovo laptops are also likely to face delays if China's COVID-19 lockdowns persist — as curbs force assemblers to shut down and closed-loop arrangements get harder to maintain. Read more here.
