In a new survey, 63% of accounting firms said they use an external cloud provider to host their applications, up from 51% in 2020.
The CPA Firm Management Association information technology survey polled 162 of its members to determine which technology resources firms use this year.
The survey results indicate firms are continuing to move away from internal servers and opting to use the cloud, with only 19% of respondents using an internal network.
The survey also addressed downtime, an important issue when using cloud technology. Internet outages topped the list of downtime reasons, with others reporting connectivity issues with the cloud host. Learn more.
