IRS again urges tax pros to sign up for ID.me

The IRS is once again urging tax professionals to set up an ID.me account as soon as possible, preferably before June 15.

ID.me specializes in digital identity protection and helps authenticate taxpayer identities before granting access to their information.

Taxpayers can use their accounts across multiple IRS tools and at other government agencies that also use ID.me.

In the summer of 2022, the IRS plans to migrate the e-Services suite of tax professional online applications and products behind ID.me.

If the process is not completed by June 15, tax practitioners must wait for the e-Services feature to migrate to ID.me. Read more.
