IRS extends VITA, TCE grants application deadline

June 3, 2022

The IRS has extended its deadline to June 17 for accepting applications for the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) grant programs.

The grant programs allow some organizations to apply for annual funding for up to three years. In the past year, the IRS awarded 34 TCE grantees $11 million and 300 VITA grantees $25 million. Last year, the programs filed nearly 1.6 million returns nationwide.

Grants.gov will continue accepting applications through June 17. Interested parties can find the application packages and 2022 guidelines here.
