SEC updates e-filing requirements for certain forms

June 7, 2022

The SEC adopted amendments on June 3 that require the electronic filing and submitting of certain forms.

The new changes also amend certain forms to require structured data reporting and remove outdated references.

These amendments aim to promote efficiency, transparency and operational resiliency by modernizing the filing of information, the SEC stated in a press release.

The SEC will also make electronic filings more accessible to the public and available on the SEC website in easily searchable formats.

The commission will soon publish the amendments on SEC.gov and in the Federal Register. The amendments will go into effect after their publication.
