Taxpayers can now electronically amend Forms 1040-NR, 1040-SS and 1040-PR, the IRS announced Thursday, June 23.
The IRS added an electronic check box on the forms to indicate that a taxpayer is e-filing a superseding return.
The new feature will also assist the IRS with its inventory work on the current backlog of amended returns, said IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig. Learn more.
