Thirty percent of CFOs said they may trim their workforce through layoffs in the event of an economic downturn during the next six months, according to a new CFO survey report.
The Q2 2022 CFO Survey from Grant Thornton LLP shows how some CFOs’ outlooks have darkened as the year unfolds, with 26% of financial executives reporting a pessimistic stance regarding the U.S. economy.
Of the 249 CFOs surveyed, only 16% of survey respondents reported being “very optimistic” in their outlook, while 23% said they were optimistic. See more findings.
