Digital Black Friday sales top forecasts, report finds

American consumers shrugged off sky-high inflation on Black Friday, spending in record-breaking numbers on online purchases.

According to a new report from Adobe Analytics, customers spent $14.42 billion between Thanksgiving and Black Friday, up from an initial projection of $14.04 billion.

Adobe projected online holiday season shopping to rack up to $210 billion, up from last year’s $205 billion, which was itself a marked increase from $188 billion in 2020.

Of the $159 billion spent between Oct. 1 and Black Friday, consumers spent more than 55% using desktop computers and other devices, compared to the 45% spent on mobile purchases, Adobe reported. Read more.
