Your data on the dark web

February 4, 2019

According to German researchers at the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI), more than 2.2 billion usernames and passwords collected from older security breaches are available to download on the dark web, a part of the internet without search engine indexing.

The data, referred to as Collection #2 through Collection #5, came from breaches that happened years ago. It’s one of the largest compilations of stolen credentials and follows the 773 million email addresses released in Collection #1 in early January.

Use HPI’s search tool to see if your email address has been compromised.
