Ruth Kallio-Mielke, CPA, managing tax director for the Milwaukee Tax Practice at Deloitte and a WICPA member, spoke to WTMJ radio hosts Gene Mueller and Jan Matenaer on Feb. 18 about the new tax changes and offered tax tips to their listeners.
Kallio-Mielke said it’s going to be a tough tax season for taxpayers and tax preparers and could take 25-30 percent longer to do the same volume of returns as last year.
Taxpayers have been seeing smaller refunds so far this year. In the radio interview, Kallio-Mielke recommends taking advantage of new deductions and increased tax credits.
