Wisconsin’s estimated unemployment rate ticks up

Monthly estimates from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development showed that the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased slightly to 3.3% over last month but remained below the national unemployment rate.

The state's labor force participation rate ticked down to 65.5% in April, while the national rate increased slightly to 62.6%, making Wisconsin's participation rate 2.9 percentage points above the rest of the U.S.

Wisconsin's labor force decreased by 4,900 over the month but is up 900 over the year. The number of people employed decreased 5,400 over the month to 3,066,500 employed, down 9,900 over the year. See the data.
