An Association for Financial Professionals survey reported in early 2019 that salary increases for finance professionals were down in 2018, especially for CFOs.
The report revealed that treasury and finance professionals received an average 3.5% base salary increase last year, compared with 4.3% in 2017. Staff-level finance team members saw average increases in base salary of 3.9%, better than those in the management and executive tiers. While in 2017 CFOs received an average salary increase of more than 5%, in 2018 this average dropped to just 2.9%.
