The IRS has released FAQs regarding Notice 2020-18, which provides relief to taxpayers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The AICPA Tax Advocacy Team is currently reviewing the FAQs and will provide more information about them soon.
The IRS did note that the FAQs webpage serves as a flexible tool to communicate information to taxpayers and tax professionals. The IRS will periodically update the page to stay current with the changing environment. Answers to the questions are not citable as legal authority.
