Wisconsin ends internet access tax July 1

June 3, 2020

Beginning July 1, charges for internet access services will no longer be subject to state sales and use tax.

The policy, announced in the Wisconsin Department of Revenue’s (DOR) November 19 tax bulletin, does not apply to bundled transactions, which are still subject to state tax.

The state will continue to tax products and services purchased over the internet. For more information, see page 10 of the DOR tax bulletin.
