U.S. allows private equity in retirement plans

June 6, 2020

Issued in a letter from the Employee Benefits Security Administration, the guidance aims to help Americans saving for retirement gain access to alternative investments that often provide strong returns.

Under the guidance, direct contribution plans can invest in private equity funds offered through professionally managed vehicles like target-date, target-risk or balanced funds. Learn more.
