The AICPA Tax Executive Committee recently requested that the IRS update and modernize its e-filing signature requirements in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The request also encourages the IRS to adopt the changes permanently, making it easier for all taxpayers and tax practitioners to use electronic signatures.
The AICPA recommends the IRS further expand on the previously announced relaxation of its requirements for digital signatures in the collections area to four other areas.
