COVID-19 aid program for farmers reopens

July 21, 2020

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) is reopening a coronavirus relief program for farmers after not receiving enough applications.

The Wisconsin Farm Support Program provides direct payments to agricultural producers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program is using $50 million in federal coronavirus relief funding to help farmers with one-time payments between $1,500 and $3,500.

DATCP reported about 14,500 people applied for the program so far, but $9 million in funding remains. Farmers can apply for the remaining funds from Aug. 10 to Aug. 24 on the Wisconsin Department of Revenue website.
