In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the IRS is now allowing taxpayers to fax duplicate copies of their applications for a change in accounting method (Form 3115) rather than mailing physical copies.
This change applies only to taxpayers requesting consent to make a change in accounting method under the automatic change procedure. The temporary procedure is in effect until further notice. Learn more.
