AICPA launches .cpa domain

September 1, 2020

The AICPA has begun an early phase rollout of .cpa (dot CPA), a restricted internet domain that allows CPAs to connect with clients and the public with greater trust, security and verification.

The .cpa extension will verify legitimate accounting services to prevent hackers from mimicking a firm’s website domain.

Interested firms can submit their applications now at domains.cpa. The goal of this initial period, which runs through Oct. 31, is to help firms acquire domains that are most consistent with their current digital branding.

To apply, firms must have a license in their respective state and agree to use the domain they acquire. Learn more.
