WICPA backs bill to protect businesses, schools as they reopen

September 9, 2020

The WICPA has joined more than 60 trade associations and local chambers of commerce in requesting lawmakers support legislation protecting businesses and schools as they begin to reopen and recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In an open letter, the organizations request state legislators sign and support a bill (LRB-6434/2) that would shield Wisconsin businesses, schools, universities and other entities from the threat of lawsuits alleging liability for COVID-19 exposures.

“As Wisconsin communities try to return to normal, Wisconsin businesses, nonprofits, schools and homeowners need protections, provided they take adequate precautions to keep their premises safe,” the letter reads. See the full letter.
