DPI Update

This session will provide auditors with updates affecting 2025-2026 audits. You will get an overview of recent State Single Audit Guide updates, DPI reporting, auditor compliance with DPI regulatory requirements and other information pertinent to current year audits.

GASB Update

This session provides a focused examination of GASB Statement Nos. 103, 104 and 105 with insights into their most significant changes and practical implications for state and local governments. This session will break down the new guidance on financial reporting model improvements, disclosure of certain capital assets and financial reporting for subsequent events. 

Beginner Single Audit Basics

This session breaks down the essentials of school district audits -- from understanding the fundamentals of single audits to navigating DPI Reporting Portals and the Wisconsin Uniform Financial Accounting Requirements (WUFAR). You will review the basic processes for coordinating, planning, testing and reporting a single audit for school districts, along with an introduction to the Federal OMB 2025 Compliance Supplement - 2 CFR Part 200 Appendix XI and the Wisconsin State Single Audit Guidelines.

She provides audit services as well as accounting and financial management advisory assistance. She has served on the AICAP State and Local Government Expert Pannel and is the firms Assurance Quality Leader for Public Sector.

Olivia Bernitt, School Finance Auditor, Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction

Olivia started as a School Finance Auditor with the Department of Public Instruction in April 2020. Olivia assists with developing, implementing and determining adherence to accounting, financial reporting, and auditing requirements for public school districts. Additionally, Olivia is responsible for any Fund 73/employee benefit related issues, self-funded insurance, debt entries and membership audits. Prior to joining DPI, Olivia worked in Public Accounting where she completed financial statement and single audits of local governments and non-profits entities.
