Federal Tax Update & Detailed Review of the OBBBA
Overview
This session will address the comprehensive tax legislation that the OBBBA enacted in 2025. It will cover the background of the TCJA leading up to the OBBBA and many TCJA provisions included in the OBBBA, as well as numerous other items contained in the bill. The session will cover key individual and business provisions in the OBBBA and highlight the changes being made, effective dates of each provision and some observations and planning points. The latest IRS guidance on the OBBBA released in 2026 also will be discussed and how these provisions should be reported on tax returns. This session will assist CPAs in working with their clients and prospects on this historic tax legislation. This session will also address other federal tax developments unveiled by the IRS in 2026 and cover recently decided tax cases that tax professionals should be familiar with.
